SAFETY and the A695 in BLAYDON

Children cross this Major Road twice a day going and coming from school.

The poor position of the small crossing makes it even more difficult to cross you can not see traffic coming off the roundabout due to the almost blind bend and at peak times making it almost impossible to cross in safety.

Children dice with death as they try and cross at a point further up the road being closer to the school where there is no crossing.

The crossing is difficult to see by the traffic again the sign is poor plus the curve of the road and the speed of the traffic in the dark and poor weather the crossing can not be seen as the lights blend in with the lights of roundabout.

The road needs organising better and a much more clear crossing built with better lights further up the road where a good field of vision would make it a clear and safe place to cross as in it's present position it is not used.
