Ways to Save on Your Next Flight
From weekday flights to midnight bookings, tips to help you cut your
travelling costs.
It is unlikely that you will find a bargains in
2009 less airlines means less seats available, most places in the
world will be more expensive I would say avoid the Euro Zone and
America and Canada.
Still good value at the
moment are Thailand-India-New Zealand-Mexico.
Who to fly with first make sure they are IATA members if not avoid.
Booking Hotels make sure
they are ABTA members if not avoid.
1. Book flights online midweek, late at night, most airlines post fare changes just after midnight, be online after hours if looking for cheaper fares. On the other hand, most deals expire at midnight, if you see a fare that is reasonable, don't hesitate book it or you may lose it.)
2. Fly on a Tuesday or a Thursday two days that see the fewest passengers, and in many cases you'll find the lowest fares.
3. Fly on a holiday, the most expensive fares are on the days and weekends either side of major holidays and when children break up from school the least expensive can be on the holiday itself.
4. Look at other airlines other than Easyjet
and Ryanair tourists coming to the UK book seats quickly pushing up the price.
Going West then look at flying via Dublin fares from the Uk to Dublin are very cheap and a large number of airlines fly out of Dublin to America - Canada and some European destinations at very low fares, flying East then look at Amsterdam for destinations such as Bangkok - Hongkong
- Sydney or Auckland one thing to think about though is VAT it is
often a lot higher in both Ireland and Holland but air fares can be a
lot lower with less add on's as in the UK.
END of the Cheap Flights.
Can you still find a cheap
flight most likely not with every extra that the airline can think of
being added to your ticket some airlines are offering £1 fares or Tax
Free fares however add those extras on such as £16 for a bag
£13 first boarding £8 check-in £8 debit or credit card charge.
Some airlines will fail not due to the cost of the
Euro or the extra cost of fuel but because the big boys out there will
drop fares or even give tickets away making it more difficult for the
smaller airline operators to survive.
So if you book with Ryanair or Easyjet
you are safe other airlines make sure you are covered by your credit
card just in case you find yourself stuck in some other country and
make sure your travel insurance covers you if the airline goes bust.
Things have gone in a full
circle package deals where the number one then came the cheap
flight airlines and now it can work out cheaper to buy a package deal
even if you don't use the hotel.
We don't as a rule recommend
any site however TopCashBack
is worth joining for the savings you make on every day items you
purchase.
(The best deal at the moment
ASDA Home insurance £68 Cash Back.)

What's a good deal.
Well RYANAIR
are offering everything from FREE seats to £10 seats but just how good are Ryanair.
They are mostly on
time and have some very clean and new aircraft if the inside colour is
a bit bright.
Bad point RYANAIR
has installed non-reclining seats without seat pockets with the safety
manuals stitched to the seat back instead,
so your seat is locked in the upright position with no adjustments at
all (some airlines are now installing lighter smaller seats which will
give you less room with no movement).
Priority boarding.
The low-cost airline's new boarding system will allow up to 60
passengers per flight to board first however Check n Go is also
priority boarding.
I have found the system does not work at the
airport gate, Priority and Check n Go stand to the right and all other
passengers stand to the left but gate staff let both lines through at
the same time to load the aircraft quickly.

Flights 2009
Ryanair and Easyjet seem head to head at most airports with Jet2 offering more deals and you have the tour operators such as Thomson now offering some good
holidays.
A few questions you need to ask though, if you are at the airport say in Spain and your flight does not arrive what happens.
Ryanair have
poor press for leaving passengers stranded with no hotel room or money to cover food waiting to get on the first available flight home which could be a few days.
Easyjet try to get you back to the UK however this could be to any airport and could be hundreds of miles from your original destination from where you have to pay any onward cost.
Jet2 well nothing to report here because to date they have not had any such case of a flight not turning up.
DISNEY
Around 90 minutes from most UK airports and with cheap flights Disneyland Paris is an ideal location for that weekend break with or without the kids.

Flying low cost a good deal or not ?
Low cost airlines are now offering not so cheap fares checking a flight from London to Malaga BA where cheaper than a number of the low cost airlines plus you got drinks free.
You should also give some thought to the aircraft you are flying on most low cost airlines fly modern 737 or airbus aircraft however these fly a large number of hours in any 24 hour period not all airlines fly well maintained aircraft a number of holiday companies who charter aircraft to fly you off on holiday fly old aircraft..
Old 747s / DC10 aircraft to Orlando Tupolevs flying you off to Bulgaria,Croatia, Slovenia,Serbia,Turkey.(737) 300 (757) (MD83) aircraft flying around Europe and out of the Canary Islands and Spain to the UK, DC10-30 Amsterdam to America.
A simple rule check the airline or holiday companies fleet before booking a good link is
this one http://www.airliners.net/search/?
Jet2 expanding and moving into more airports are they the one to watch in
2009 although the fleet seems a little old with 737/300 and 757/200 aircraft.
